Groundwater purification of VOCs
Treated media: Soil, Groundwater, Air
Flow rate: 240 m3/h
Substances: VOC
Processes: Desorption, UV oxidation
Commissioning: 2016
KF Company: Harbauer Berlin GmbH
Most of the vinyl chloride is converted into the gas phase in the first column. The polluted air is then passed through a droplet separator into a UV oxidation reactor, in which the vinyl chloride is oxidized to carbon dioxide, water, and hydrochloric acid.
The purified exhaust air is admixed to the higher desorption air stream of the second column.
The second desorption stage is followed by exhaust air treatment by means of two active carbon air filters connected in parallel. These are ideally suited for the preparation of cis-dichloroethane and trichloroethene.
The purified water is finally delivered to the Kannegraben and thus to the pre-flood.
